Eight modular block sets are grouped together for classroom exploration of
mathematical concepts keyed to the NCTM (National Council of Teachers of
Mathematics) standards, K through 2nd grade. The materials and accompanying
Teacher's Guide (including an Assessment Addendum) focus on specific NCTM
standards--problem solving, communication, reasoning, connections, estimation,
geometrical and spatial sense, measurement, and patterns and spatial
relationships. The video documents children in kindergarten through 2nd grade
as they work on the challenges and investigations detailed in the Teacher's
Guide.
